PURPOSE

The Learning LT (LLT) is responsible to pray for our gospel learning as a community, to cast vision for our gospel learning as a community and to oversee the implementation of this vision for gospel learning in our community.      

PRAYER 

The LLT is constantly asking and praying through these questions: —> How can the gospel be at the center of all of our learning and how should the gospel inform and encourage us in all spheres of our knowledge? —> How can we pass on the truth of the gospel to the next generations, both inside and outside the church? —> How can we equip and encourage the people of our congregation and our city to take every thought captive to Christ in all situations and experiences of their lives? 

Working under the Team of Church Planters and the Advisory Team and with the various Learning Ministry Teams, the LLT casts vision for Redeemer’s gospel learning as a community — to the various Learning Ministry Teams and to the whole congregation. Thus this group will learn Christ together, will study how to learn Christ together and will create avenues for learning and discipleship to permeate all aspects of our life together.  

This vision for gospel learning will include a comprehensive approach for individual and corporate spiritual formation in Christ.  

The LLT has the following oversight and responsibility: —> The LLT gives oversight to each of the Learning Ministry Teams under its care by teaching and equipping them in Redeemer’s vision for gospel learning. This occurs in part through a representative structure. The LLT is made up of representative leaders from the Learning Ministry Teams and has, in turn, representation on the Advisory Team. —> The LLT will assist and hold accountable each of the Learning Ministry Teams to identify its ministry goals and strategies, to delegate ministry opportunities to a broad range of people, and to follow-up on the successes and failures of its ministry endeavors. —> The LLT will work with the various Learning Ministry Teams to set their ministry budgets and will interface with the Team of Church Planters, the Advisory Team and the Finance & Budget Ministry Team in setting Redeemer’s budget for each ministry year. —> Redeemer’s vision for gospel learning will be implemented in part through the development of Redeemer’s School of Discipleship, which will be under the direct oversight of the LLT.
