Worship

We believe worship is the central and defining activity of the people of God. We all, by nature, are worshippers. If we worship not God, we will worship something in his place. As our confession declares, "The chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy him forever." The worship of God is that for which we were created. And the gospel of Jesus is the power of God to redeem fallen humanity, to bring men, women and children into intimate and right relationship with Father, Son and Holy Spirit. In that context, we are redeemed to worship and adore our great God and King, our Savior and Deliverer.

As you visit with us on Sunday, it is our hope and aim that you will sense the importance we place on worship. And it is not so much that we are doing this great activity for God, as much as we anticipate the Triune God meeting us and blessing us with the grace of Jesus and the power of Christ's spirit.

Connecting in worship with Redeemer is easy:

1. Make corporate, weekly worship a priority. Most of the year, we offer two services, one in the morning and one in the evening. This is intentional. We hope the same service at these times will help make room for you to come and worship with us.

2. Serving on Sundays is a great way to connect in worship. There are many teams that are needed on Sundays. Connecting with one provides opportunity to serve the larger body and using your gifts and talents will give you a greater sense of belonging. Intentionally, we want more and more people to have a sense of purpose and connection. So use the navigation tool on the right to explore the various ministry teams and areas of ministry that operate each Sunday. Pastor Matt Grimsley gives oversight to most of these teams and he would love to talk with you about serving in a particular area (865-454-1619 | Email).

3. Use the Taking Worship Home guide provided by the church. Whether you are single, living with roommates, married with or without children, the Taking Worship Home guide helps you press gathered worship on Sunday into your lives during the week. Its easy to use. Simple to follow. And can help you stay on the path of intentional time with God. Taking Worship Home is available here online as part of our worship bulletin. To find any given week, locate the Sunday of that week and use the links provided to download either our pdf or word documents of the Bulletin/TWH Guide.
