Learning, or Spiritual Formation, is the process of growing into the likeness of Christ. It comes to us in and through the gospel of Jesus, which we encounter together through the means of grace — the Word, prayer, and the Sacraments. So every community must then, following the wisdom of Christ, cast a vision for the spiritual formation of its people and implement a path to support this vision.

Learning, then, is all so that our body would be filled to the measure of all of the fullness of God.

Consider Ephesians 3:14-19…

For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Learning, for Reformed folk, is traditionally the answer for spiritual formation. At Redeemer, we have tried to emphasize that spiritual formation is more holistic than just learning, and yet, learning is vital as we are transformed by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2).

We have many learning opportunities for all ages and stages. Here is a list with which you can get started:
