Worship

Purpose:

At Redeemer, worship is a central activity of our life together.

As we worship through Word, Sacrament, and Prayer, we enter into the great story of God’s love for us, as expressed through the gospel of His Son, Jesus Christ: God Calls us into His presence, He then Cleanses us in His Son, Consecrates us with His Word, Communes with us at His table, and Commissions us for the world.

We gather together in worship in order to express our love for God and to rest in His love for us. And through our liturgy we are reminded of this beautiful truth: We were made to know and be loved by God! As we rest in God’s great love for us, we are also renewed by his Spirit to reflect this love to the world.

We gather for corporate worship on Sundays at 10:00 am. During the special seasons of the year, such as Advent and Easter, we enter into the narrative of Christ’s life by offering more opportunities to gather in worship.

Music:

The Scriptures invite and urge us to express ourselves and our love for God together through song in corporate worship. [Is 12:5, Ps 95:1, 1 Cor 14:15, James 5:13,…] Thus, Redeemer is a singing church. Through our music, we unite ourselves in common expressions of our love for God and we respond to him with a common voice. It is also a key way of expressing our creativity back to our creative God!

Children in Worship:

We invite and welcome the whole family of God. Children, whether our own or our neighbor’s, are a blessing!

While we have a private space for mothers of nursing infants to use as needed and still hear the service, we welcome children in our worship services. In fact they are a visible reminder of Jesus’ command to let the little children come to me, and the faith we are all called to bring to the Lord – the faith of a child.

During our service, children 4 years through 2nd grade are invited to participate in their own Children’s Worship segment of our service during the sermon. They then return to join us for the Communion.

At special times throughout the year, our Children’s Choir helps to lead our worship. For more information of Children’s Ministry at Redeemer, please Click Here
