Who We Are
Redeemer is a community of people planted in the heart of urban and university Knoxville, trying to learn how to love both God and our neighbors. We believe that Jesus is God, and that he reveals the Father’s love to us. So we gather every week to rest in Jesus’ love and to worship him together. From this rest, we continue to gather throughout the week so that we can continually remind one another of his love. Finally, as we rest in and remind one another of Jesus’ love, we also turn in service to our neighbors so that we can reflect Jesus’ love to all those in urban and university Knoxville.
Worship | Sundays 8:45 AM & 11:00 AM
Our worship service generally lasts an hour and 15 minutes. We are a liturgical church, meaning that our services follow a certain pattern that connects Sunday to Sunday and our church to churches of the past through responsive readings, prayer and worship.
Redeemer has children's programming for children from infant through 2nd grade during our service. Learn more about our Children's Ministry Here.
Sunday School | Sundays 10:00 AM
Our Fall Sunday School session will begin on August 4. We have 5 Sunday School sessions throughout the year with classes for all ages.
Twice a year, we offer our Introducing Redeemer Class during the Sunday School hour. This class is an introduction to our church. It’s a great way to get to know about Redeemer and meet others at our church. It also serves as a pathway to membership.
Please check our calendar for information on upcoming classes.
Location | We are located at 1642 Highland Ave, on the corner of 17th and Highland. Our corner is in the heart of Fort Sanders, just a few blocks from the campus of the University of Tennessee.
